My Top 10 Favorite Alcohol Ink Colors

Copic BG 78 Bronze

This is such a gorgeous, deep green-blue. It’s so versatile and can pair well with warm colors or other cool colors. It’s pretty saturated, so a little bit can go a long way. It blends easily and doesn’t bleed out any other colors.

Copic E71 Champagne

I struggle to work with warm colors, but Champagne is the perfect, subdued, neutral pink. It’s become almost a staple in my pieces. This color also blends easy and doesn’t bleed out any other colors.

Copic B39 Prussian Blue

This is my go-to, classic blue. It’s beautiful on its own, but I also use it as the base to mix a lot of different blues. It’s very saturated, so you only need to use a little bit, and the bottle has lasted me a long time. It can sometimes bleed out a little pink undertone, but its pretty easy to control.

TRex Monsoon

This is such a beautiful gray-blue. Depending what you pair it with, you can make it appear more blue or more gray. Personally, I love the contrast it makes with Copic Champagne. This one also blends smoothly without any undertones.

TRex Island Teal

This has quickly become my favorite teal. While similar to Copic Bronze, its definitively a little brighter and leans more to the blue side. While I used to favor more vibrant teals, like Ranger Pool, lately, my work has become a little more muted and neutral, and TRex Island Teal fits my style perfectly.

Copic C5 Cool Gray No. 5

This is definitely my favorite gray. In my opinion, its the perfect temperature, slightly cool but not to be mistaken for blue. Although its a little flat and not something I use on its own, its a staple in a lot of my pieces. It’s not too saturated or too light, and it blends easily without bleeding out any undertones.

Copic W5 Warm Gray No. 5

This is another one of my favorite neutral colors. It’s a warm gray, but tends to look beige in my opinion. It bleeds out a really pretty pink-red, which compliments the beige well. I often like to use this alongside of Copic Cool Gray No.5 to make a more dynamic looking gray.

Copic E04 Lipstick Natural

Again, while I struggle to use warm colors, I love this pink-red color. Depending on what you pair it with and how much you dilute it, it can look brighter or more subdued. This one blends easily and doesn’t bleed out any other colors.

Copic E17 Reddish Brass

Although I never use a lot of this color, its a great warm contrast to my usual blue-gray pieces. Again, this ink is pretty saturated, so you only need to use a very small amount. It blends well without bleeding any other colors.

Brea Reese Ocean Green

While my style has definitely evolved into a more neutral and muted color palette, this bright green-blue will always hold a spot in my list of favorite inks. Something about the vibrancy of this color will always remind me of warm, Caribbean ocean water. It blends so smoothly and doesn’t bleed out any undertones.

Honorable Mention- Ranger Slate

I couldn’t make a list of my favorite inks without at least mentioning Ranger Slate. This used to be my absolute favorite ink due to the beautiful undertones of navy, teal and pink; however, Ranger seemed to change the formula, and now, it bleeds out navy and a mustard yellow. Sadly, I’ve tried buying multiple bottles, and I can’t seem to find any with the old formula anymore, so I’ve had to give up on my beloved Slate. (If anyone from Ranger is reading this… bring back the old Slate! 😂 worth a shot, right?)
